The Report is in…

The practice recently had a routine inspection from the Care Quality Commission (CQC), the official regulator of health and social care in England. The CQC carries out unannounced inspections to judge whether or not essential standards are being met.
They looked at many aspects of the practice including the facilities available, standards of record keeping and cross infection control, the quality of staff training and how we respond to the needs of our patients. They also chatted to patients about what they thought of the services we offer.
The report we received was excellent!
Some of the highlights are
“The practice… offered a modern, pleasant environment. The reception/waiting room was warm and inviting with a child friendly section for small children containing a range of books and toys. The practice facilities were clean, modern and well maintained “
“People we spoke with were very happy with the care and treatment provided. When asked what they thought of the service, people told us “it’s brilliant” and “I’m really satisfied”. They said “staff were “welcoming” and made them “feel at ease”.”
“People told us the (orthodontist) always explained what they were doing, what the treatment options were including risks and benefits and the costs involved. They said “treatment has always been explained in great detail” and the (orthodontist) “explains everything.”
“People’s privacy, dignity and independence were respected. People’s views and experiences were taken into account in the way the service was delivered in relation to their care.”
“People were cared for, or supported by, suitably qualified, skilled and experienced staff”
“People were protected from the risk of infection because appropriate guidelines had been followed. People were cared for in a clean, hygienic environment. We also saw that the practice had been externally audited by the NHS Infection Control Team in December 2012 and had achieved an excellent audit score”
